a wild emptiness

a wild emptiness. charcoal, watercolors, acrylics. 22.5x30". 2021.

you watch me water my garden of overgrown words, unwieldy, unkempt, unspoken. they fall somewhere between my lips and your hands, slipping through the cracks of what is and isn’t. all the lines we’ve drawn are just blueprints for how not to feel. sometimes i wonder how things still manage to grow in the chasm between what is wonderful and what is real.
