regrowth

happy first day of spring, friends! it's pouring rain this morning where i am, but the sun has been peaking out beyond the clouds here and there as if it's reminding us to look up – something that is much harder for some than others. sometimes the rain is already too overwhelming.

my good friend thomson posed this question: while social distancing can help slow down the public health clock, how can we also think about slowing down the economic clock to match? some of us are lucky to still have work from the safety of our homes, but others are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table. others do not even have shelter.

today, on the first day of spring, when the earth is in a phase of renewal and regrowth, i'd like to ask you to think about how can we pass along that same seasonal sentiment to those around us? while we are seeing some movement on the policy front, we cannot just wait around and hope that things will get better on that front. we can do more to help. if you are salaried and financially comfortable, i implore you to look into donating to your local food banks and housing organizations to support your community. you can also make donations for direct financial relief to freelancers, service industry workers, and more through https://www.leveler.info.

if you need help doing any research on where you can put your money, please feel free to reach out and i'd love to poke around with you. take care. x
